Admission To enter the UCR, a Costa Rican student must perform an entrance exam. This test measures primarily the ability of logical reasoning and verbal student. The grade obtained in the test is averaged with the notes of the last 2 years of secondary or 3 if it makes a sixth year (in the case of colleges) to obtain a note of admission of between 200 and 800 points, with 800 the highest mark. Each year, some students from around the country manage to get 800 points. Each race has a minimum grade to enter, according to the demand that the race has, and the notes of students who choose it. The medical career is one that requires the highest score at admission (above 700 points).
